The humanitarian crisis caused by escalating violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine State has caused suffering on a catastrophic scale. Extreme violence and discrimination have driven over 727,000 Rohingya refugees across the border into Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
Women and children are extremely vulnerable, living in highly challenging circumstances, fighting malnutrition, exposed to the monsoon elements and dependent on aid.
Keeping this in mind, we in collaboration with Basmah Foundation established a Children Care Centre at Camp 14, Block E-5 Hakimpara, Ukhiya, Cox’s bazaar, Bangladesh which provides a safe place for kids to learn and grow. The center strives to provide them emotional and moral support. Every day more than 100 students are learning in our Centre. There are five teachers who are teaching these children different subjects in Rohingya language like mathematics, religious studies, physical education and English. We provide free books, free snacks, school dress and bags etc. The center organizes classes five days a week.
Volunteers from our partner organization Basmah Foundation (Government of Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau Registration Number – 3160) help in running day-to-day operations of this Children Care Centre. This project and all services offered at this Children Care Centre is approved by Government of Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau (Approval Number – 03.07.2666.618.104.22.168.)
