Project Description

PREVENTABLE DISEASES

Natural disasters and flooding often strike Bangladesh, and because these regions aren’t the wealthiest, there is no immediate access to fresh water post-disaster. Contaminated water is the cause of many medical illnesses and the spread of disease, where many families and children fall prey to the lack of clean water and proper sanitation.

In order to help mediate these unfortunate circumstances, we provide medical supplies and treatments from those who fall ill with viruses, parasites, and other contagions that stem from unsanitary water. With a donation, you can help by providing relief for the medical needs of those affected by a natural disaster.

The Rohingya refugees had very limited access to health care in Myanmar, and the majority did not receive routine vaccinations. This makes them highly vulnerable to preventable diseases. The lack of clean water and sanitation is especially dangerous. The conditions the Rohingya are living in greatly increase the probability of disease outbreaks like cholera, diphtheria, which would threaten thousands of lives.

We in collaboration with Basmah Foundation are running two medical camps at Camp 14, Block E-5 Hakimpara, Ukhiya, Cox’s bazaar, Bangladesh and Camp 01, Block 01 Lombashya, Kutupalong, Cox’s bazaar, Bangladesh. Every week more than 700 patients are treated in the medical camps. All patients are provided free medical care, medicines, primary care, emergency care, distributing medicines, health advice, and so much more.

Volunteers from our partner organization Basmah Foundation (Government of Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau Registration Number – 3160) help in running day-to-day operations of this medical Centre. This project and all services offered at this medical Centre is approved by Government of Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau (Approval Number – 03.07.2666.662.68.156.18.)
