Project Description

CREATING OPEN MINDS

Children are the future, and knowledge is power.

The high unemployment rate in Bangladesh further perpetuates a poor economy, which also robs children of the opportunity to make a living. We provide the youth the opportunity to be trained in areas such as in basic education and design and typing. Education paves the way for these children, and with our programs they have the ability to be employed where they can begin their own lives by supporting their families financially.

Keeping this in mind, currently, we in collaboration with Basmah Foundation established a Children Care Centre at Camp 14, Block E-5 Hakimpara, Ukhiya, Cox’s bazaar, Bangladesh which provides a safe place for kids to learn and grow. The center strives to provide them emotional and moral support. Every day more than 100 students are learning in our Centre. There are five teachers who are teaching these children different subjects in Rohingya language like mathematics, religious studies, physical education and English. We provide free books, free snacks, school dress and bags, sports goods etc. The center organizes classes five days a week.

Volunteers from our partner organization Basmah Foundation (Government of Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau Registration Number – 3160) help in running day-to-day operations of this Children Care Centre. This project and all services offered at this Children Care Centre is approved by Government of Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau (Approval Number – 03.07.2666.662.68.156.18.)
